The ocean is pulled by a compassing moon.
A million pale star lighted shadows are strewn
and I am drawn to the sea.
Horizons are stretching, kept just out of reach.
I see where I’m headed, points unknown to speech
and I don’t know where it is.
The course runs its wonder, each leap urged with skill
The current is strong, once you float just be still
and I knew both fear and faith.
The languishing tide can erase each old trace.
The palette of sunsets reveals daily grace
and I hear the depths of song.
