Our little baby is not a baby. Sometimes it makes me sad, but knowing that we have another on the way to fill those tiny shoes helps, plus she’s just so much fun these days! She’s a little social butterfly and cheers up many a Target cashier with her hellos and eager hand waving. She loves walks on campus and picking up dozen of “eaves” from the ground. She eagerly points out ears and hair on everyone she can see, and also loves to loudly exclaim whenever she sees a baby at church and during worship – and we have a lot of babies.
I keep waiting for a bad phase of sleep, but she loves it as much as her mama. Sometimes she’ll lunge for bed and say bye before I’m even done singing. I consider that a love of bed and not a dislike of my singing…hopefully. Hugs and kisses abound, as does curiosity. She’ll get into moods of wanting to test her limits, but for the most part she is very obedient and responds quickly to no.
All in all, she makes me very excited to try this parenting thing a second time.
